Job Description

Senior Legal Counsel

Location: Madrid


Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their global legal team, providing legal and compliance support for operations in Iberia. This role involves advising on commercial and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks, and partnering with internal stakeholders to manage risk and support business goals.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including industry-standard construction agreements and distribution/channel terms.
  • Provide legal guidance on antitrust and competition regulations related to distribution and channel partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates and legal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks through policies and procedures.
  • Manage claims and litigation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Deliver training and support legal compliance programs.
  • Provide additional legal support as required by legal management.


Requirements:


  • Fully qualified lawyer with a Master/Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal) with strong technological proficiency.
  • Experience in an international corporate environment, preferably in an in-house legal role.
  • Ability to analyse and resolve complex legal and commercial issues.
  • Commercially minded with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capable of working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
