Join the Close Brothers Legal Team, where you will provide regulatory and consumer credit advice related to retail clients. The ideal team member will have experience in internal projects, change, remediation workstreams, and regulatory interactions, with excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide expert advice on Consumer Credit (CCA, CONC, and Consumer Rights Act) and related regulatory matters across the Bank.
2. Contribute to customer documents, journeys, legal agreements, and Group policies.
3. Review, draft, and advise on customer documentation, managing related disputes.
4. Ensure consistent approaches to consumer credit matters across the Group.
5. Advise on regulatory compliance issues, including enforceability, affordability, vulnerable customers, and arrears.
6. Assist with commercial transactions, working closely with business teams.
7. Participate in internal and external meetings such as Finance and Leasing Association meetings and Customer Forums.
8. Coordinate with the legal team to ensure standardization and contribute to wider Bank issues.
9. Develop relationships with key stakeholders in various business locations.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:

• Consumer credit and regulatory expertise or demonstrable experience, with strong academic credentials and a proven career track record.
• Excellent communication skills applicable to all organizational levels.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:

• Understanding of the financial services industry.
• Knowledge of motor and premium finance industries.
• Business-oriented with experience in retail consumer credit products and legal regulatory risks, including minor litigation management.
• Ability to provide incisive, commercial, and proactive advice on a broad range of issues.
