This role sits at the intersection of Kernel Internals, security research, and AI-assisted patch review, supporting rapid, high-quality remediation of Linux Kernel vulnerabilities while maintaining strict quality and SLA standards.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential Experience

  • 6+ years hands-on experience with Linux Kernel engineering, Kernel Internals, or vulnerability research

  • 3+ years experience in C debugging, low-level memory analysis, or system-level debugging

  • Strong experience with Kernel module development and/or Kernel patch development

  • Solid understanding of secure coding practices, vulnerability patterns, and exploit mitigation strategies

  • Deep experience using Kernel debugging tools such as GDB, ftrace, perf, or similar

  • Familiarity with Kernel.org patch submission standards (formatting, sign-offs, commit messages)

  • Proven ability to work independently on complex issues and deliver high-quality outputs within SLAs

  • Strong written English skills, particularly for technical documentation and patch annotations

Mandatory Skill

  • Industrial AI - Predictive Analytics

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Vulnerability Triage & Classification

  • Analyze and classify Linux Kernel vulnerabilities based on validity, impact, and complexity

  • Maintain high triage accuracy with minimal false negatives

  • Support continuous improvement of triage velocity and backlog reduction

2. Patch Development & Validation

  • Develop secure, high-quality Linux Kernel patches for validated vulnerabilities

  • Deliver patches within defined Time-to-Patch (TTP) SLAs for medium-complexity issues

  • Ensure patches pass automated CI/CD commit checks with a high first-pass success rate

3. Kernel Debugging & Regression Prevention

  • Perform root-cause analysis on Kernel crashes, memory corruption, and low-level failures

  • Validate fixes thoroughly to prevent regressions and ensure sandbox stability

  • Document debugging findings and share insights with the wider team

4. AI-Generated Patch Review & Annotation

  • Review AI-generated Kernel patches for correctness, safety, and security gaps

  • Provide structured annotations (syntax, logic, security flaws, etc.) to support model improvement

  • Maintain consistently high annotation quality and depth scores

5. Collaboration & Process Excellence

  • Work closely with the Kernel Security Lead and POD team to meet delivery and quality targets

  • Contribute to improving triage workflows, patch templates, and debugging best practices

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as required (no direct customer ownership)
