Senior Java Developer - Burgess Hill, UK Consultant

Role - Senior Consultant
Required experience - Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, RestAPI, CICD
Location - Burgess Hill

As a Senior Consultant, you are an expert at contributing to different phases of the consulting lifecycle. You will be involved in defining the problem, proposing and refining the solution, and contributing to the development, configuration, and deployment of the overall solution. You will guide teams on project processes, deliverables and contribute to proposal development, client training and internal capability-building, helping to detail the project scope. You will have the opportunity to shape value-adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape.

Please note: The consultants are required to work at the office in Burgess Hill at least 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on software development including high-quality code and unit tests.


• Primary focus should be to interpret business requirements and be a part of application development and support.


• Perform ongoing refactoring of code, debug and fix issues to ensure the application meets technical standards.


• Develop code with good quality, which is easily testable and works across standard browsers and web platforms.

Required / Qualifications

• 7+ years of development experience in developing enterprise-grade server-side applications with Java as the primary programming language.


• Strong programming skills in Java, data structures and algorithms, web services, REST APIs, JSON, XML, etc.


• Experience with frameworks like Spring MVC, Spring Boot; messaging systems like Kafka, Solace, etc.


• Knowledge of CI/CD tools, ability to write unit tests, and perform operational support of applications when needed.


• Knowledge and experience in RDBMS concepts and databases like Oracle, DB2, etc., along with NoSQL concepts and databases like Mongo, Cassandra, Couchbase, etc.


• Experience with various mocking frameworks, test-driven development, and performance/endurance testing with tools like JMeter and Postman.


• Must have valid work authorisation to work in the UK.
