From advanced communication systems to data management and real-time analytics, ICT is the backbone that underpins operational service delivery, ensuring firefighters have the tools they need to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the London Fire Brigade for a Senior Infrastructure Design and Support Analyst. The role will be responsible for supporting, planning, designing and provisioning solutions to enhance the capability of the ICT services within the brigade.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience and demonstrated success in the continuous design, development and support of server-based infrastructures, with a strong emphasis on Azure based cloud technologies. This includes working with both on-premises Hypervisor-based and Azure cloud-based infrastructures for large multi-site organisations-ideally within a 24/7/365 environment-using Microsoft Server, VMware, and the Azure platform.

Assessment Overview

Stage 1

  • Experience in designing, developing, supporting and administrating server environments, and Azure cloud technologies, to ensure operational and project deliverables are effectively achieved.
  • Undertaking project work in relation to the design, development, support and integration into a Server/Cloud Environment.
  • Participating in Service Continuity events; planned or unplanned as directed by the Service Continuity lead.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend stage 2.

Criminal records check

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a Standard criminal records check.
