Our services for children and their families cover all aspects of a child's physical, educational, and social development from early infancy through adolescence. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Psychologist to join our teams in Co. Wicklow.

Contract Type: Permanent and specified purpose posts.

Contract Hours: Full and part time hours available.

Salary Scale: €97,978 - €115,166 pro rata per annum.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post

To work as a senior member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children and families within the region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a psychology service to an assigned caseload which may include children and their families on the community team and/or an assigned special school team. This will include assessment diagnostics and intervention, clinical and performance supervision and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities attending our service. Services are provided to children aged 0-18 years with physical, sensory, and/or learning disabilities, and/or developmental delay.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological service to an assigned caseload including children and families on the community team or special school team.
  • Conduct assessment, diagnostics and intervention.
  • Provide clinical and performance supervision.
  • Deliver ongoing service to children with a range of disabilities aged 0-18.
Qualifications
  • Recognised university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) with 1st or 2nd class honours in Psychology, meeting the requirements of the Psychological Society of Ireland to work as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Irish post graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology.
  • OR an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
  • Demonstrate competence in the Care Group(s) applied for.
  • Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • At least five years of satisfactory post graduate experience in professional psychology, with at least two years full time post qualification experience as a psychologist.
  • For clinical or counselling psychology: at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post qualification work experience in appropriate health settings for Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, or Adult Psychology.
  • For educational psychology: at least 60 days of supervised clinical placements or post qualification work experience in Child Disability or Child Psychology.
  • Eligible to work in the State.
  • Previous experience in a senior post.
  • Experience facilitating parent groups.
  • Experience of inter-disciplinary team working.
  • Experience working with children aged birth to 18 years across a range of disabilities, including autism and learning disability.
  • Specific experience in assessment and intervention with children with physical disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties.
  • Qualification and experience in completing ASD diagnostic assessments.
  • Experience and training in formal supervision processes.
