Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and take a leading role in the management and execution of geotechnical site investigations across the UK. This position offers you the opportunity to advance your career in a dynamic and growing sector while contributing to some of the most challenging engineering projects.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring they are carried out following the highest standards and safety regulations. You will provide technical expertise, mentor junior staff, and collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Site Agent for small and medium-sized projects, or take on a support role overseeing various activities and personnel on larger projects.
  • Contribute to the planning, supervision, and scheduling of Ground Investigation projects at various sites across the United Kingdom.
  • Possess confidence and expertise in ground investigation techniques.
  • Prepare Health & Safety documentation prior to and during the work phase on-site, while also assisting in managing the Health & Safety for workers and fostering a safe working environment.
  • Document Soil and Rock in accordance with the specifications and BS5930:2015 standards.
  • Maintain precise field records of completed tasks.
  • Conduct in-situ testing and sampling following the specifications and current technical standards.
  • Coordinate with Clients, Engineers, and Main Contractors throughout the site work phase.
  • Support the creation of basic factual reports.
  • Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience in geotechnical contractors or similar roles with transferable skills.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation methods, laboratory testing, and analysis techniques.
  • Proficient in relevant software for geotechnical analysis and reporting, along with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of managing teams effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations as they pertain to site investigations.
  • Full UK manual driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CSCS Card holder
  • First Aid trained (preferred)
  • Cat & Genny/Surveying (preferred)
