Job Description

For our office in Madrid, we are looking for a Senior Financial Project Manager.


What will you do day-to-day?


Finance:

  • Lead the Financial planning of the projects: oversee treasury forecasting, monitor and update business plans, and analyse deviations. Identify root causes and implement action plans to mitigate financial risks.
  • Manage Project Financials throughout the Development, Construction, and closing stages to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Drive the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reviews, providing insights into financial movements and variances throughout the budgeting cycle.
  • Support project oversight from investment to sale or handover, ensuring seamless coordination across Investment, Development, Construction, Procurement, and Asset Management teams.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and modelling to support strategic decision-making and optimize project performance.
  • Work closely with financial teams to oversee payment approvals, closings, pipeline management, audits, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Assist in securing project financing, maintaining relationships with banks/lenders, coordinating internal funding and treasury activities, and participating in due diligence and headquarters discussions.
  • Support due diligence processes, audits, and the preparation of investor reports to ensure financial transparency and compliance.


Operations and Reporting:

  • Prepare the correspondent projects reports from the financial perspective.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance project progress and streamline procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Investment Management on corporate agreements and negotiations.


What are we looking for?


  • Degree in Business Administration or Engineering with Financial acumen.
  • 10-15 years of experience in Finance/Financial Planning/Business Development - ideally in a multinational utility and/or the Renewable Energy industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and team management experience. Accounting and Project Finance experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office - specially Excel - is required. Programming and automation in Excel or other programming languages is a strong plus.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required; second European language is a plus.
  • Structured, proactive, organised, and with great attention to detail.
  • Enjoying a dynamic environment, comfortable working autonomous and simultaneously on various tasks.
