About the role
We are looking for a hands-on safeguarding operations contractor to join Volt's Financial Operations team in London. This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone with a strong grasp of reconciliation workflows and safeguarding processes in a fast-paced fintech or financial services environment. You'll be expected to hit the ground running, own critical reconciliation tasks, and ensure Volt's safeguarding obligations are met daily across multiple legal entities.
What the role involves
- Perform daily and periodic reconciliations of Volt's safeguarding relevant funds across multiple legal entities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safeguarding policies.
- Quickly identify and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations, investigating root causes and working with relevant teams to prevent recurrence.
- Liaise with internal teams (Finance, Compliance, Product) and external stakeholders (e.g. banking partners) to manage safeguarding queries and issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain and enhance reconciliation procedures, ensure proper controls are followed, and contribute to operational stability.
- Support internal and external audits with documentation, walkthroughs, and data as required.
- Contribute to process improvement where relevant, while prioritising day-to-day delivery of safeguarding activities.
- Ensure all tasks are documented accurately and kept up-to-date as processes evolve.
About you:
- 3+ years of experience in financial operations, reconciliations, or safeguarding roles.
- Familiarity with safeguarding rules under FCA or equivalent regulatory regimes.
- Proven track record of performing critical, time-sensitive operational processes.
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive financial data with care and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills - able to work cross-functionally and under pressure.Someone who is action-oriented and delivery-focused, with a strong operational mindset.
- You are confident working independently, can manage your own workload, and are comfortable with the urgency and detail required in safeguarding processes.
- You bring prior experience in reconciliations, safeguarding, or financial operations within a fintech, payments, or e-money environment.
- You're comfortable using standard reconciliation tools and spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets), and ideally familiar with reconciliation platforms or financial systems.
- You have strong attention to detail, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and care deeply about accuracy and compliance.
- While not required to build automation, you're open to supporting colleagues who are working on process improvements or tech tooling.
- Based in or able to commute to London for key meetings or team sessions.
