London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London's fire and rescue service - one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We are here to make London a safer city. Employing over 5000 people across our operational team (our firefighters), control (our call handlers who answer 999 calls), fire safety and our non-operational team (our team who work behind the scenes to support our front-line services, which includes Fleet, IT, HR, Finance, Procurement, Communications team and many more).
This is an exciting time to join the LFB finance team. We have recently implemented SAP4HANA and SAP Ariba, the first public sector organisation to go live with this cloud-based system.
Responsibilities- The post-holder will be responsible for managing the Finance Systems team: leading the administration, ongoing development and training agenda for our newly implemented S4HANA and SAP Ariba purchasing systems and supporting our 5000 users across the Brigade.
- Have recent, demonstrable experience managing the implementation and/or support of SAP finance systems, with S4HANA public cloud experience strongly desirable
- Have demonstrable experience providing ICT systems training and support to finance end users
- Have senior management experience within a large, complex organisation
- Demonstrate strong communication and inter-personal skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence and communicate effectively with staff across all levels and functions
- Have sound analysis and problem solving skills, with the flexibility to transition between the detail and bigger picture

- Recent experience of managing the implementation or support of SAP financial systems in a large, complex organisation.
- Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills in order to collaborate, advise, influence and communicate effectively with staff across all levels.
- Experience of providing ICT systems training, advice, and support to finance end users.
- Evidence of strong analysis, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems, identify solutions and prioritise tasks or projects.
