Senior Finance Business Partner Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic business leadership to Directorate Management Teams, ensuring effective use of financial resources in pursuit of agreed Directorate and Corporate goals.
- Act as the senior finance lead on Trust-wide projects, providing strategic advice and input, including constructive challenge to a range of stakeholders.
- Support a cohesive approach to income, activity, expenditure and workforce monitoring
- Ensure monthly reports are robust so that key management decisions are based on accurate business information and all risks are assessed.
- Lead, plan, coordinate and implement all aspects of the annual financial business plan within the assigned Directorates.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Senior Finance Business Partner candidates must have a strong understanding of NHS contracting and income, substantial experience of working as a qualified finance professional, and the ability to work independently and build strong working relationships with partners and external colleagues.
Candidates must be fully qualified (AQA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
NHS experience is not essential, so please apply if you feel your skills and experience align to our requirements.

Person Specification Training, Qualifications and Registration- Fully qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CIPFA)
- Evidence of CPD
- Acted as a coach or mentor
- Trained to use recognised improvement tools and techniques
- Significant experience, including some at a senior level within a Management Accounting department or equivalent in a complex multi-professional organisation
- Experience of working with budget holders in budget setting
- Experience of financial forecasting
- Experience of Business Case production and capital investment planning
- Experience of using SBS General Ledger
- Experience of costing of bids for tendered services
- Experience of streamlining processes including the use of forecasting
- Able to analyse highly complex issues involving material drawn from various sources, sometimes conflicting
- Knowledge of statutory and professional financial reporting guidelines and requirements, including working with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to present to senior management as well as external bodies as required
- Ability to work constructively in a team environment with colleagues in clinical, operational and other corporate areas
- Knowledge of the organisation's objectives and activities
- Understanding of the NHS agenda and knowledge of NHS financial framework
