This is a great opportunity to join Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council at a time of transformation and innovation. Senior Executive Quantity Surveyors are responsible for the efficient management of staff and the work programme of the directorates/department and function to which they are assigned. Managers at this level work within defined parameters relevant to the position, in accordance with the Local Authority's vision and objectives as set out in its Corporate Plan and the role is interchangeable across directorates. Delivery of efficient services and value for money is crucial.
The Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor will be required to lead a team or teams and to provide technical and managerial support across all local authority service areas and to liaise with external agencies and support the democratic process.
The Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor will be required to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Elected Members to deliver the full range of services, implement local policy decisions, manage capital projects and deliver on strategic corporate objectives and in accordance with the general policy direction of the elected council.

Main Duties of the Job- Providing the full range of quantity surveying services from Project Inception to Final Completion on allocated projects in accordance with the requirements of the Public Works Forms of Contract and the Capital Works Management Framework, including preparation of tender and contract documentation.
- Managing, overseeing and directing projects undertaken by in-house staff and consultants.
- Setting targets, goals, timeframes and driving progress to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner.
- Managing and motivating staff by fostering good employee/management relations.
- Liaising with Government Departments and agencies on matters relating to projects.

An opportunity now exists in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for the position of Senior Executive Quantity Surveyor.
Salary Scale effective from 1st June 2026:
Hours of attendance will be fixed from time to time but will amount to not less than 35 hours gross per week.
The annual leave allowance for the position of Senior Executive Quality Surveyor 30 days.
