Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Environmental Advisor, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Redcar.
Role Purpose- Support and influence the Contract Leadership Team and stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the Group SHE Management System.
- Act as a key advisor to enable operational teams to implement environmental solutions and achieve performance targets.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while providing an independent, objective view of SHE performance.
- Coach and support the contract supply chain to ensure the successful delivery of environmental requirements.
- Systems Implementation: Deliver training and guidance to allow contract teams to successfully adopt the SHE Management System.
- Assurance & Compliance: Lead the environmental assurance programme to ensure all activities meet company and statutory requirements.
- Incident Management: Support the investigation of unplanned events and ensure lessons learned are effectively shared and closed out.
- Supply Chain Management: Manage subcontractor documentation, compliance, and ongoing performance assessments.
- Data Analysis: Report and analyse environmental data to influence leadership decisions and develop data-driven improvement plans.
- Strategic Support: Actively contribute to the delivery of annual Contract and Group SHE objectives.
- Education: Degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline (Masters preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of environmental experience, specifically including contaminated land and brownfield projects.
- Professional Membership: PIEMA or equivalent (ideally working towards MIEMA/CEnv).
- Specialist Knowledge: Experience with DCO (Development Consent Orders) and consenting processes is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence leadership and supply chain partners.
