Senior Engineering Manager

Leap29 is excited to present a fantastic opportunity to join a leading solar power producer in Madrid. We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to drive the development and engineering of our client's solar and hybrid Solar + BESS projects in Spain.

This role will focus on solar PV plant design, engineering, and management from early-stage development through to construction and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define guidelines for the design of solar PV and hybrid Solar+BESS plants.
• Coordinate internal and external resources for layout and design development.
• Assess energy production for solar power plants
• Review third-party engineering designs, and ensure they comply with laws and permits
• Support permitting processes, including technical documentation for project approval.
• Oversee plant monitoring, yield analysis, and continuous improvements.
• Stay updated on industry trends for solar technologies like PV modules, inverters, and trackers.
• Collaborate closely with the management team on negotiations with developers, financial institutions, and business partners.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years in utility-scale solar PV plants
• Strong technical knowledge of solar systems, including PV modules, racking, inverters, and balance-of-system components.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and PV Case.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Ability to plan and manage your own workload effectively.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work remotely and with international teams.
• Willingness to travel
