Job Description
Senior Engineer - Transportation Team, Cork, Ireland

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Transportation team in Cork, Ireland. This role will involve working on both client-side and design and build projects, including publicly funded and private developer projects.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake and lead significant elements of detailed design including drawings, specifications, reports and calculations.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and other disciplines.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues, and mentor where practicable.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Ensure solutions meet client needs and expectations.
  • Liaise with clients and contractors and supervise works on site when required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the company's IMS and current H&S legislation requirements.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree and close to achieving or having chartered status.
  • Demonstrable capability in planning and delivery of road and/or active travel scheme projects.
  • Experience of leading and managing a project team.
  • Experience of highway geometric design in compliance with the DMRB using Bentley MX/OpenRoads or Civils 3D.
  • Strong experience of CAD software packages (e.g., AutoCAD) with sound BIM use.
  • Understanding of safety, health and welfare regulations and safety by design best practices.
  • Confidence to present design solutions and progress internally and externally to clients.
  • Desire to learn, progress and challenge yourself.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: experience in PSDP on multidisciplinary transportation projects.
  • Preferred: experience as a Road Safety Audit Team Leader or Member.
  • Preferred: knowledge of quality management systems, financial project management systems and business and commercial issues.
