Job Title: Senior Engineer - Requirements and Acceptance
Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on qualifications and experience
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the management and maintenance of acceptance evidence, customer approvals and supplier approvals
- Acting as a point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives
- Facilitating the management and maintenance of requirements using requirements development practices, including compliance details, traceability, acceptance characteristics, acceptance evidence and customer approvals
- Providing help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working and their development
- Making engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
- Maintaining a level of SQEP for the role through personal and professional development
Your skills and experiences:
- Understanding and expeirence of the engineering lifecycle
- Knowledge of configuration management principles and software tools
- Experience working within the Requirements and Acceptance stages of the engineering lifecycle
- Competence and capability with requirements capture and management software tools e.g. the Rationale software tools such as DOORS, etc.
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution.
Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Requirements and Acceptance team:
This team plays a crucial role in the Type 26 programme, a team of professionals working across various functions such as engineering, supply chain, project planning and engaging with suppliers externally. Reporting to the Engineering Manager for Requirements & Acceptance, you will gain valuable exposure to business operations, seeing projects evolve from concept to completion.
