Role OverviewThe Senior Energy Manager will lead the delivery of comprehensive energy management services across industrial client sites. This role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking and client engagement to identify, develop and implement energy-efficient solutions that reduce operational costs and support sustainability objectives.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-directed professional capable of operating independently while providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contributing to broader business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Energy Management & Technical Delivery- Deliver end-to-end energy management services across a portfolio of industrial client sites.
- Conduct energy audits, analyse energy consumption patterns and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Develop and implement tailored energy management strategies aligned with client operations and sustainability objectives.
- Design and support the implementation of energy management systems, including ISO 50001 frameworks.
- Establish site energy baselines and develop energy performance metrics.
- Recommend and support the deployment of energy-efficient technologies and solutions, including HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps and renewable energy integration.
- Monitor and verify energy savings achieved through implemented initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve energy performance and reduce operating costs.
- Prepare and present reports outlining savings opportunities, return on investment and environmental benefits.
- Support clients in the successful implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
- Develop energy reduction roadmaps and monitor progress against key targets and objectives.
- Lead energy management activities across multiple client locations.
- Provide mentoring, technical support and knowledge sharing to junior team members.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, analysts and technical specialists.
- Contribute to team development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance working culture.
- Manage project timelines, budgets and resources effectively.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities for additional services and contributing to proposals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of internal processes and methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in energy management (e.g. CEM, CEA or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in energy management, consultancy or a related technical environment.
- Proven track record in delivering energy audits and implementing energy-saving initiatives.
- Strong understanding of industrial energy systems, energy efficiency technologies and sustainability best practices.
- Experience working with industrial manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Ability to build credibility and develop long-term partnerships with clients.
- Strong understanding of client operational needs and business drivers.
