Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Electrical Manager
This is a pivotal role supporting a local authority on a 12-month contract based in Glasgow, working on a hybrid basis with two days per week in the office. This opportunity offers the chance to shape key strategy and lead on national electrical and lighting infrastructure initiatives within the transport sector.
The Senior Electrical Manager will play a crucial role in delivering expertise on lighting and electrical systems across the national transport network. This is a unique opportunity to influence future policy, energy management, and the strategic development of critical infrastructure assets.
The main duties of the Senior Electrical Manager are:
Provide expertise and challenge on electrical and lighting matters to support oversight of contractors on scheme development, delivery, and annual investment programmes.
Take the lead in setting out future strategy on key lighting matters, particularly around the Lighting Central Management System and LED equipment renewal.
Develop electrical best practice, policy and strategy, and act as the technical lead for key electrical policy and standards.
Lead on energy management, including financial oversight, management, and administration of the national estate of electrical assets.
Work collaboratively with energy suppliers and implement measures to drive down energy usage.
The Senior Electrical Manager will have key experience in:
Membership of a relevant professional industry body.
Preferably CEng registered with the Engineering Council (not essential).
Demonstrable experience and expertise relating to the delivery of electrical and lighting services in a roads environment or equivalent transport-based infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of the public sector electricity market and managing different supply types.
Experience in engaging a wide range of stakeholders, building credible relationships, and offering strategic advice at a senior level.
Proven experience in contract management and delivering a range of priorities within complex and fast-paced environments.
