About the role We are developing modular solutions for industrial manufacturers to treat wastewater and waste onsite while maximising biogas generation to decarbonise their operations. You will be part of our Project Engineering team delivering our patented Electro-Methanogenic Reactors. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the design, implementation, and optimisation of our electrical, instrumentation, and control (EIC) systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our technology at client sites. We are seeking an engineer with hands-on experience across the EIC lifecycle from instrumentation selection and control panel design through to PLC/SCADA programming, testing (FAT/SAT), installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. You will work with process instrumentation and electrical systems to integrate field devices with our modular control platforms, and support compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities 
- Development of modular control systems that enable quick system design to reduce the time from order to design.
- Design, testing and commissioning and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI and SCADA software for our modular plants.
- Writing key control documentation, including FDS, FAT and SAT documents.
- Experience managing electrical subcontractors, ensuring the system meets design specifications and is installed on time and within budget.
- Provide technical support on the PLC, SCADA and software to help customers, operators, site engineers and scientists.
- Lead the onsite commissioning of the PLC & SCADA system with instrumentation setup and calibration.
- Onsite electrical wiring during commissioning and maintenance of sites.
- Develop electrical load schedules for prospective sites.
- Instrumentation and Equipment specification for controlling and monitoring our industriWASE systems.
- Time will be split between office, remote and site work depending on the project you are working on.
- WASE is looking for a proactive, entrepreneurial individual who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable learning new skills on the job and taking initiative to get things done rather than waiting for instructions.
- 5+ years experience working within electrical and instrumentation industries process, electrical.
- Experience in control systems in industry.
- Methodical individual with an eye for detail and an ability to execute.
- Ability to deal with pressure and meet tight deadlines and budgets.
- A minimum Level 3 Electrical Qualification (BS7671 desirable).
- 18th Edition, test and inspect (2391) certification.
- A full UK driving license as the role will involve travel nationally to sites.
- Experience working in water/wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas or gas sector.
- Working with machine learning teams and software integration into industrial controls.
- Startup experience.
- Worked with Mitsubishi hardware and software.
- Coding of PLC, HMI and SCADA software.
- Experience with IoT and remote operation and knowledge of data security.
