The Vacancy

ADAS, part of RSK Group, is seeking Senior Ecologists to join our Midlands team based in Wolverhampton on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves managing projects, liaising with clients, conducting protected species surveys, and applying your technical expertise in mitigation strategies. We are particularly interested in candidates skilled in the Planning process, Biodiversity Net Gain, UK Habitat Classification, Habitat Condition Assessments, and protected species licensing. Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with ecologists to deliver quality projects on time.
2. Manage projects from start to finish.
3. Provide technical advice to clients.
4. Write technical reports such as Ecological Appraisals, Impact Assessments, Mitigation Strategies, Biodiversity Management Plans, Habitat Regulations Assessments, and protected species reports.
5. Review and approve reports for quality.
6. Lead protected species surveys and train junior staff.
7. Support business development and project management efforts.

Essential Requirements

1. Graduate-level education in a relevant field.
2. Associate Level CIEEM membership or higher.
3. Deep knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques.
4. Experience managing projects and engaging with clients.
5. Excellent report writing skills.
6. Proactive time management and problem-solving skills.
7. Full driving license and access to vehicle; able to commute to the office.
8. Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and Habitat Condition Assessments.

Desirable Skills

1. Experience with bat data analysis.
2. CSCS card.
3. Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification.
4. Experience with District Licensing for Great Crested Newts or mitigation licenses.
