Senior EC&I Engineer

Overview

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior EC&I Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington.

Role Purpose

To provide EC&I engineering expertise in support of major projects being delivered for Sellafield, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and supported through all phases of project delivery, from procurement and manufacture through to installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CE&I aspects of mechanical handling systems (package transfer systems, storage outside of Glovebox Lines).
• Deliver CE&I aspects of building services systems (cranes, FLTs, lifts).
• Provide design support to procurement, manufacturing, and installation teams.
• Manage CE&I design configuration baseline in line with developing project requirements.
• Review and check CE&I design deliverables to programme deadlines, standards, codes, and regulations.
• Work with the supply chain - respond to Technical Queries, support test specifications, attend Works Acceptance Testing.
• Integrate CE&I systems within the wider Plant using BIM.
• Support commissioning activities.
• Ensure CE&I design intent remains aligned to nuclear and conventional safety case requirements, including Validation & Verification.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

• SQEP to undertake CE&I design of mechanical handling systems.
• Demonstrable experience in a similar role - nuclear experience highly desirable but not essential.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• BEng/MEng degree or HND/HNC in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Professional registration with a recognised engineering institution (IET/InstMC) or working towards it.
• Proven competence delivering design across the full project lifecycle.
• Independent and capable of managing own area of responsibility.
• Knowledge and experience of Validation & Verification within project delivery.
