Are you a fully RICS qualified Surveyor with a strong background in disrepair work? Looking for a public sector role where your expertise directly protects residents, drives value for money, and supports a high-performing Housing Service? This could be the perfect opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with Disrepair Case Officers and the Legal Team to carry out inspections and produce accurate, detailed specifications for new disrepair claims under Section 11, EPAs, Awaab's Law, HHSRS and other key regulations

• Recommend practical, cost-effective repair solutions that not only resolve issues efficiently but also deliver long-term value for the Council

• Investigate disrepair cases thoroughly, ensuring robust evidence gathering to challenge and rebut inappropriate claims, helping to significantly reduce unnecessary settlement costs

• Demonstrate strong understanding of the works required to address legal disrepair claims, ensuring swift and effective resolution to protect the Council's position

• Complete quality checks and Post-Inspections on selected completed works orders

• Liaise with the Repairs Team to ensure timely, value-for-money delivery of disrepair works, safeguarding the Council's assets

• Take ownership of all disrepair claims and provide an efficient, high-quality surveying service across Housing Services

Requirements:

• Demonstrable senior-level experience in commercial or public-sector surveying

• Strong, proven background in managing and responding to disrepair claims

• Confident in surveying, inspecting, and measuring residential properties

• Skilled in managing and monitoring work programmes, producing technical specifications, drawings, and contract documentation

• Full RICS membership/qualification
