Senior DevOps Engineer (relocation to Madrid)

About the Role:
UST is looking for a DevOps Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Cloud-native platforms, and CI/CD pipelines to join a forward-thinking team delivering modern digital platforms. You'll lead the charge in designing scalable, secure, and automated systems, collaborating with stakeholders to drive innovation across cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- CI/CD Leadership: Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, including reusable templates and governance frameworks.
- Cloud-Native Platforms: Design and manage Kubernetes/Docker/Helm environments in Azure, AWS, or GCP. Implement best practices for ingress, TLS, and service mesh patterns.
- Feature Ownership: Lead end-to-end feature lifecycle coordination with stakeholders. Tackle sprint-cycle challenges and advocate for modernization efforts.
- Innovation & POCs: Drive proof of concepts and tool evaluations (GitOps, serverless, mesh architectures) and promote adoption in partnership with the platform team.
- Infrastructure as Code: Implement "Everything as Code" using Terraform, Octopus Deploy, and scripting in Bash, PowerShell, Python.
- Observability: Build robust monitoring and self-healing systems using Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, ELK, etc.
- Documentation & Training: Maintain up-to-date runbooks and deliver hands-on training workshops for internal teams.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 8+ years in building and scaling distributed systems within Agile/DevOps environments.
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes (PKS), Docker, Helm, and container security.
- Proven ability to deliver systems designed for high availability, performance, and maintainability.
- Strong in performance tuning, capacity planning, and defining non-functional requirements (NFRs).
- English level: C1 (professional fluency).
