Senior Department Manager - Limerick City

Salary upwards of €45,000 plus 10% annual bonus, pension, staff discount and generous benefits. 40 hour contract.

About the Role

We are looking for a standout retail manager from a commercial retail environment to lead a department in a large format, dynamic corporate retail business. The role involves managing store KPIs, including sales performance, budget control and workforce planning. The successful candidate will be hands on on the shop floor, merchandising stock and maintaining high store standards. The client offers career development and a strong internal promotion track.

Responsibilities
  • Support senior management to drive department sales, store standards and team performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures across the team.
  • Manage department stock and inventory, investigate discrepancies and coach staff on best practices.
  • Drive customer engagement and sales through creative merchandising, promotions and displays.
  • Take full ownership of the department(s), leading, motivating, developing the team while managing schedules, stock and customer feedback.
  • Handle customer queries and complaints in line with company policies.
  • Lead store operations during shifts, including opening/closing and ensuring smooth day to day running of the store.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff queries, grievances and performance management.
Requirements
  • 3+ years' retail management experience, ideally in a fast paced, customer focused environment.
  • Confident team leader who can motivate staff, manage performance and professionally de escalate issues.
  • Strong understanding of retail systems, sales analysis, stock control and ordering large/bulky products.
  • Thrives in a busy, high pressure retail environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Flexible to work management shifts, including openings and closes (typically 9 am 9 pm).
