Senior Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager
Posted 11 hours 3 minutes ago by Etch Group
We're looking for a brilliant Senior Delivery Manager / Senior Project Manager - someone who can take client work end to end and keep it moving, whatever the size of it.
Some of our engagements are large, multi-workstream change programmes. Plenty aren't. You might be running a six-week build, a steady BAU cadence for a client we've looked after for years, and a larger programme, all in the same fortnight. We want someone who's as good on the small stuff as the big stuff, and who doesn't need a two-year roadmap to feel useful.
No two engagements look the same at Etch. On some you'll have a dedicated Product Owner and BA alongside you. On others you'll flex into those spaces yourself, owning a backlog, shaping requirements, or helping a client get clear on what they actually want. You're comfortable with that, it's the job.
AI is changing what good delivery looks like, and we want someone who's already using it rather than someone with a view on it. Running smarter projects, spotting risks earlier, cutting the admin so the team can think. If you're actively reshaping how you work, you'll have the space to bring that in here.
Location: Hybrid, 2 days a week in our Southampton office.
Reports to: Works most closely with the Principal Consultant / account lead on each engagement.
Travel: Occasional travel to UK client sites as engagements require.
ResponsibilitiesOwn delivery on your engagements end to end, on time, on budget, on quality - across everything from small projects and BAU workstreams through to larger change programmes.
Define and manage delivery frameworks, governance structures, and reporting cadences appropriate to each engagement, from agile sprints to programme-level steering.
Be the senior delivery contact for your clients, working alongside the Principal Consultant or account lead who owns the relationship. You build trust through the quality of what you ship.
Lead and mentor the delivery team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative delivery culture where people are supported to grow and do their best work.
Proactively identify, manage, and elevate risks, issues, and dependencies, keeping clients informed and confident throughout.
Work closely with Principal Consultants, Experience Designers, and Technology leads to ensure delivery plans reflect realistic effort, sequencing, and resourcing.
Flag follow on opportunities to account leads and chip in on proposals where it helps.
Lead Etch's AI-augmented delivery approach, bringing hands-on experimentation and a clear point of view on how AI tooling can make programmes smarter, faster, and more transparent for clients.
Champion continuous improvement of Etch's delivery practice, refining tools, templates, and ways of working to raise the bar across the team.
Person Specification6 to 10 years in project or delivery management, ideally agency, consultancy or in house digital.
Comfortable running several engagements at once at different sizes and tempos, and switching between them without dropping anything.
Strong on both agile and more structured delivery (Scrum, PRINCE2 or equivalent) and the judgement to know when to apply what.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, equally comfortable in a client workshop, an exec steering committee, or a team retrospective.
Experience leading project teams, with a coaching mindset and a genuine interest in people development.
Commercial awareness, able to manage programme financials, forecast resource needs, and contribute to commercial conversations.
A natural problem solver who brings calm, clarity, and structure when things get complicated.
Genuine curiosity about AI and its practical application in delivery contexts. We are not looking for a theorist; we want someone who has hands on experience using AI tools to improve how they work, whether that is in planning, status reporting, risk identification, or team productivity.
Passion for digital, customer experience, or marketing technology is a strong advantage. You don't need to be the expert, but you should be genuinely curious.
Comfortable wearing multiple hats depending on the engagement, stepping into product ownership, backlog management, or BA style discovery work when the situation calls for it.
Experience delivering in regulated or financial services environments is a plus (much of our work sits in FS and other regulated sectors), though not essential.
