Senior Data Engineer

I am hiring for a media company based in Liège, which is launching an exciting data-driven project. They seek a freelance Data Engineer with strong ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) experience and familiarity with the Microsoft technology stack to join their team for at least 12 months.

The project aims to build a real-time content personalization engine that will analyse live user behaviour across web, mobile, and streaming platforms. This will enable the delivery of smarter, more personalized content experiences. It is a high-impact initiative gaining significant internal attention and is poised to transform how the company engages with its audience.

Job Description

• Designing and building scalable ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL Server
• Connecting and integrating multiple data sources: user activity logs, CMS, CRM, and more
• Working closely with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to operationalize machine learning models and dashboards
• Ensuring high data quality and governance across the pipelines
• Playing a key role in shaping the Azure-based architecture for the project

Skills Required

• Solid experience as a Data Engineer or ETL Developer
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Data Factory and SQL Server
• Comfortable working with data integration and transformation at scale

Bonus Skills

• Bonus if you have experience with Power BI, Python, Databricks, or Azure Synapse
• Fluency in French and/or English
• Media industry experience is a nice-to-have, but not a must
