Office based in Warrington, Cheshire, located just 3 minutes from M56, Jct 10.
Salary from £40k to £50k dependent on experience/skills

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to become a valuable part of our IT department at Pennington Choices.

About this role The role will be a very hands-on position and requires a proficient data professional to play a leading role in modernising the business's data intelligence and customer data delivery programme.
  • You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI and DAX script, SQL Script, Python.
  • You will be responsible for working with all business service lines to ensure smooth data delivery to clients.
  • You will collaborate closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and other IT professionals to ensure data accuracy, optimize performance, and deliver insightful dashboards and reports that support decision-making processes to customers and colleagues alike.
In collaboration with the Head of IT, you will assist in the training/upskilling of other Data Analysts.

Responsibilities include
  • Working with the wider data team to deliver customer data requirements on all our service lines.
  • To provide BI dashboards and data sets to internal colleagues using Power BI or any other platform the company decides it needs.
  • Perform data manipulation and transformations as required to meet customer and colleague data requirements.
  • Assist the Head of IT in data related projects, for example the Data Warehouse.
  • There is no management responsibility, however the person in this role will be expected to take a lead and ownership of company data issues in collaboration with the Head of IT.
Role requirements, skills and/or experience
  • High proficiency with other BI tools and data transformation (Power BI).
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in designing and developing reports/dashboards using Power BI.
  • Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, SQL script, Python and data modelling in Power BI.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Knowledge of integrating Power BI with other platforms such as Azure and SharePoint.
  • Ability to transform business requirements into technical specifications and intuitive visualizations.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, especially Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory or similar ETL tools.
  • Experience in architecture of databases in data warehouses/lakes.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Any scripting skill around data transformation platforms
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
