Job Description
Senior Credit Controller 
CREGG are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Credit Controller to join our client's finance team based in Mallow. This is a full-time position, on a fixed term 18-24 month contract. The Senior Credit Controller will be responsible for maximising cash flow, managing customer accounts, reducing credit risk, and supporting strong corporate governance while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Maximise cash flow by ensuring timely collection of outstanding customer invoices.
- Review customer contractual information and maintain accurate account records.
- Assist with the timely allocation and application of customer payments.
- Proactively identify and address issues that may delay payment.
- Prepare accurate and timely credit reports for senior management.
- Produce weekly debtor reports and monitor aged debt performance.
- Liaise with internal departments and legal representatives to resolve disputes and minimise payment delays.
- Monitor customer credit risk and provide proactive recommendations to reduce financial exposure.
- Support the Credit & Retail Finance Manager on credit control initiatives and risk management.
- Drive continuous improvement within the credit control function and ensure departmental SOPs are maintained and followed.
- Manage Customer Experience Management (CEM) issues on a daily basis.
- Work closely with the Sales team to ensure approved new customer accounts are established efficiently.
- Maintain a strong focus on corporate governance and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Membership of the IICM or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong experience in credit control within a commercial environment.
- Excellent knowledge of ERP systems and online banking platforms.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance and credit management best practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make sound commercial decisions and manage competing priorities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to process improvement.
