Senior Commercial Property Solicitor / Partner - Birmingham

A highly regarded Legal 500 firm based in Birmingham City Centre is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Property Solicitor (8+ PQE) to join its established Commercial Property team. This senior-level position offers the opportunity to take on a leadership role, with clear potential to progress to Partner level (Salaried Partner, depending on experience).

The Role

You will handle a broad and varied caseload of commercial property matters, including:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and completing commercial leases, licences to occupy, agreements for lease, and related documentation
  • Acting for SMEs and business owners in the purchase and sale of commercial property
  • Acting for bridging lenders and other lenders in securing property loans and negotiating related documentation
  • Acting for Receivers, Liquidators, and Administrators in property transactions
  • Advising alongside the Corporate team on the property aspects of corporate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, share purchases, and restructuring
  • Conducting property due diligence, reviewing titles, leases, searches, and replies to enquiries
  • Providing strategic advice on freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals within corporate deals
  • Advising on property finance and security over land
  • Drafting auction packs and other transactional documentation

This is a senior leadership role where you will also:

  • Supervise and manage junior members of the Commercial Property team, including monthly supervision meetings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering high standards of client care and file management
  • Support the firm's business development initiatives and attend marketing events
  • Contribute to the firm's strategic objectives by participating in internal strategy groups
  • Prepare annual submissions for the Legal 500 for the Commercial Property department
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor with 8+ years' PQE in commercial property
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of commercial property law
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client care skills
  • Experience supervising junior team members and managing workloads
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with an interest in business development and team leadership
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9:00am-5:30pm; Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (37 hours per week)
Location: Birmingham City Centre (hybrid working available)
