Senior Commercial Manager - Rail

You will be working in the Infrastructure Operating Unit based in Manchester (Network Rail - Square One) in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
As the Senior Commercial Manager - Rail, you will:- Be able to produce preliminaries estimate and assess staffing levels for projects for commercial and production staff.
- Set a commercial strategy that sets financial targets that achieve the best case gross project margin and where possible outperform Targets.
- Monitor and manage the contract procedures, payments, variations together with contract entitlements. Particular attention required understanding the impact of variations on critical path and assess EOT entitlement for Skanska and assess objectively sub contractor entitlement.
- Monitor and manage the procurement procedures for the package scope, quantification, tender method, negotiation and subcontract documentation.
- Undertake line management responsibilities for direct report staff ensuring each is effectively managed, have a current performance review and learning plan and are able to carry out the duties assigned to them.
- Experience working on large projects £100m+ (ideally within a rail environment).
- Good working knowledge of NEC contract/commercial law.
- Experience of working in rail projects desirable.
- MRICS or CICES desirable.
- Degree or equivalent in commercial related subject.
- Experience with managing commercial teams of 5+ members.
