We are looking to appoint to 2 Senior Clinical Fellows in Neonatal Intensive Care Medicine. The posts are available for 6 months and possibly renewable for a fixed term period of up to 24 months. The posts have an anticipated start date of 3rd September 2025 based at the Jessop Hospital Sheffield.
Applicants must have;
A Medical Degree
3 years minimum postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics OR full MRPCH
Full GMC registration with a Licence to Practise is essential by the date of application

Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will work on the Neonatal Unit at the Jessop Hospital. Duties include:
A shared responsibility for the day to day management of the Intensive Care, High Dependency and Special Care areas of the Neonatal unit supervising the ST1 to ST3 grades.
They also have some responsibility for the management of babies on the postnatal wards in the hospital.
Responsibility for attending high risk or abnormal deliveries in the Labour Ward or operating theatres. However deliveries which will require admission to the Intensive Care Unit are usually managed by the Intensive Care team.
There are three Consultant ward rounds daily every morning, later afternoon and late evening.
Teaching. There is a small but variable responsibility for teaching medical students.
The successful candidate will participate in a full shift system.

Job responsibilitiesShared responsibility for the day to day management of the intensive care, high dependency and special care areas of the neonatal unit alongside the senior clinical workforce as required

Person Specification Qualifications- Medical Degree from a recognised university or institution
- 3 year minimum postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics OR full MRPCH
- Clinical Practice for a minimum of 36 of the last 60 months
- Minimum 6 months experience in tertiary level Neonatal Intensive Care with relevant skills
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Distinctions, prizes, awards, scholarships and other degrees
- More than 1 year of tertiary neonatal unit experience with relevant skills
- Experience of working with electronic patient record systems
- Demonstrate an understanding of management and clinical governance issues
- An understanding of the issues of clinical effectiveness and audit
- Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practise where appropriate
- Documented completed audits during training
- Willingness and ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
