Senior Clinical Fellow - Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Location: Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

The closing date is 09 March 2026

The Fertility Centre (TFC), established in 1995, is part of the Department of Private Practice and offers a comprehensive range of infertility treatments. Licensed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, TFC provides individualized care through a highly skilled and dedicated team. The service includes an outpatient infertility clinic for rapid diagnostic work-up of couples referred by GPs or specialists, with all treatments delivered within the Centre. These include ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, donor insemination, IVF, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and ovum donation.

TFC also runs a Reproductive Ageing and Fertility Programme, led by Mr Dimitrios Nikolaou, focusing on women over 40, those with low ovarian reserve, and fertility preservation for cancer or social reasons. The unit performs 500-600 IVF/ICSI cycles annually, with plans to expand activity. Patients include both NHS-funded and private cases.

Clinical leadership comprises Consultants Mr Nikolaou, Mr Julian Norman-Taylor, and Miss Kate Maclaran (Service Director). The laboratory is headed by Dr Paula Almeida with a team of embryologists, supported by specialist nurses and administrative staff. TFC also operates at West Middlesex Hospital, offering subfertility clinics, fertility theatre lists, and an IVF satellite service. The post may involve rotation to West Middlesex for cross-cover.

  • Active involvement in outpatient infertility and IVF sessions, quality management programmes, and performing procedures such as saline scans, endometrial scratch, and intrauterine insemination, with training opportunities in egg collection and HyCoSy.
  • Managing clinic and treatment room rots and liaising with administrators for bookings.
