The Role.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experiencedSenior Civils Estimatorto join our Pre-Construction team inGalway. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing major infrastructure projects while working alongside a highly experienced management and delivery team.

The successful candidate will lead the preparation of high-quality, competitive tender submissions, ensuring robust commercial and technical solutions that support GMC's continued growth across the utilities and civil engineering sectors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation, pricing and submission of competitive tenders for civil engineering and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover.
  • Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings and contract requirements.
  • Obtain, analyse and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates, pricing models and bid strategies.
  • Collaborate with Design, Operations, Commercial and Project Delivery teams to develop winning tender solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering proposals.
  • Prepare tender programmes and methodologies in conjunction with operational teams.
  • Support post-tender negotiations and client presentations where required.
  • Ensure all tender submissions align with GMC's quality, safety and environmental standards.
  • Provide detailed handovers to project delivery teams upon award.
  • Support and mentor junior estimators and members of the wider pre-construction team.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, supply chain developments and industry trends.
