Position - Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Location: Plymouth / Bristol

Travel: Required at the office in Bristol or Plymouth 2/3 days per week and 2/3 days remote.

Arrangement: Contract/Staffed

Job Responsibilities

Assist the Discipline Lead in delivering structural engineering work packages, ensuring they meet scope, quality, schedule, and cost requirements. Manage technical deliverables in line with planned objectives within the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

• Sole British national
• Ideally, a Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent knowledge in nuclear/marine systems
• Experience in seismic design
• Design and substantiation of heavy civil engineering and building structures to seismic codes, with experience in dock structures preferred
• Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings
• Understanding of building services design and installation
• Experience with construction techniques for Nuclear Safety-related structures
• Strong understanding of engineering design and safety practices relevant to the role
• Knowledge of health and safety, design, and quality procedures
• Proven ability in technical management of complex design development
• Ability to advise subcontracted design teams
• Project management, planning, and budgeting experience
• Proficiency with engineering office software
• Experience supporting design, construction, operation, or refit of nuclear submarines or facilities

Education Requirements

• Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
