Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on Experience)
An established civil and structural engineering consultancy with a 20+ year track record is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their civils team in Sevenoaks. With a workforce of 40 across two local offices-including a dedicated civils team of 9-you'll be part of a collaborative and experienced group delivering diverse and meaningful infrastructure projects.
The role involves the design and delivery of roads, junctions, and foul/surface water drainage systems across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, heritage, education, ports & harbours, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong engineer who also enjoys mentoring junior staff and playing an active role in project management and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Design of highways, junctions, and drainage systems (foul and surface water)
- Hydraulic modelling, cut-and-fill analysis, and infrastructure coordination
- Liaising with clients, statutory bodies, and other consultants
- Attending meetings and clearly communicating design intent and project progress
- Supervising and mentoring junior engineers and technicians
- 5+ years' experience in civil engineering design
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status (ICE or equivalent)
- Proficient in hydraulic modelling, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
- Strong knowledge of design standards and industry best practices
- Experience with Section 278, 38, 104, and 185 agreements
- Confident communicator with experience working directly with external stakeholders
- Ability to work collaboratively and support the development of team members
- Professional Development: ICE-accredited training scheme with a strong track record of supporting engineers to Chartered status
