Job Description

We are recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer to join our clients expanding Infrastructure Engineering team in Oxfordshire. Our client is a structural and civil engineering consultancy with an established reputation for providing high quality engineering services. They deliver practical, commercial solutions for our clients and pride ourselves on a creative, collaborative approach with hands-on partner involvement from conception to completion.

They were established nearly 30 years ago and currently have 3 offices across the UK.They are seeking a talented individual that can deliver a high-quality service, has the ability to think outside the box, and who enjoys a collaborative approach to developing pragmatic and innovative design solutions to the various technical challenges land development can present.

You must have a good understanding of Civil Engineering best practice and standards, and the technical design skills to produce high quality work on a range of projects. The individual will support schemes through design drawings and calculations to accompany planning applications through to construction.

What you need to succeed

  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or a degree qualification in a related subject plus 2+ years relevant post graduate experience.
  • Experience in highway engineering, drainage engineering or general development infrastructure design.
  • A good understanding of relevant best practice and guidance.
  • Experience in highway and drainage design using for example Manual for Streets, DMRB, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, and Local Authority design standards is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Civils3D or similar, and drainage modelling software such as MicroDrainage or similar would be desirable.
  • To be able to prepare drawings and calculations for both private and adoptable arrangements applying the relevant principles, design codes and standards.
  • Consultancy/private sector development background with a bias towards private sector development work.
  • Effective organisational and communication skills with a collaborative approach and enjoys responsibility.
  • Ideally a full driving licence and access to a car.
