Overview

Civil & Structural Engineering, Transport Infrastructure


We are seeking a skilled Engineer or Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join a consultancy in Wigan, United Kingdom. As a key member of our Civil Engineering Design firm, you will be responsible for designing infrastructure projects, reviewing and project managing projects while mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil engineering and be passionate about learning and developing towards chartership.



Responsibilities

  • Design infrastructure projects

  • Review and project manage projects while mentoring junior staff

  • Take ownership in your team and help mentor junior staff

  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders

  • Manage workload and meet deadlines

  • Ensure designs meet client expectations and regulatory standards



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BSc or BEng) in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred

  • 5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure design and project management from a UK consultancy

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D / PDS, Microdrainage / Info Drainage PDS and other design tools

  • On track to or have obtained IEng or CEng status

  • Strong understanding of regulatory standards, codes, and guidelines related to infrastructure design and construction

  • Excellent report writing skills with some experience of flood risk assessments (FRA)

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

  • Take ownership in your team and help mentor junior staff

  • Review designs and project work to the highest standard to deliver on the client's expectations

  • Liaise with clients and Stakeholders

  • Ability to manage workload and work to tight deadlines
