Overview

Are you a talented Experienced Civil Design Engineer with a passion for the energy sector? Do you want to deliver sustainable projects that make a difference in the face of unprecedented challenges? The UK&I energy sector is experiencing a transformative period with increasing demand, stringent regulations, and ambitious net-zero targets. This is your opportunity to join Stantec's Energy & Resources Team, which works across four main sectors: Waterpower and Dams, Waste and Generation, Transmission and Distribution, and Minerals and Resources.

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to work on a range of projects across all sectors and stages from concept design to detailed design and site support. This role offers a chance to significantly contribute to the UK's energy transition.

You will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working on hydropower and pumped storage hydro solutions as well as other energy projects including energy from waste, nuclear, hydrogen generation, and transmission and distribution. The role can be based in any UK office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, and clients to achieve positive project outcomes.

  • Engage in advisory roles, Owner's Engineer duties, client-facing concept design, contractor-facing detailed design, remediation, troubleshooting, installation support, and Lender's Engineer/insurance/due diligence support.

About You

You will ideally hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution and be on route to professional registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and ICE. We are looking for individuals with experience in civil design across some or all of the following sectors:

  • Waterpower and Dams

  • Hydro and/or pumped storage hydro schemes

  • Advanced Digestion

  • Energy from Waste plants

  • Transmission and Distribution projects

You should be comfortable working in a full 3D environment using appropriate tools to sketch and review models within a common data environment. You will embody and support our values of client focus, designing with community in mind, collaboration and service excellence.

With offices in multiple locations across the UK, the role can be based in any of the offices, with a preference for Edinburgh, Newcastle, Redditch, or High Wycombe.

You will be a proactive individual with knowledge and understanding of the Energy Sector, engaged in the engineering community and understanding innovative solutions and industry best practices.
