Senior Civil / Structural Designer

Overview

Senior Civil / Structural Designer based in Woking, UK. Contract duration: 12 months+.

Our client is a global engineering consultancy providing design and project management support to a leading Energy Operator. They are seeking a Senior Civil / Structural Designer to join the team in Woking, UK.

Project scope

Civil / Structural 2D/3D design and drafting for FEED and Detailed Engineering projects including:

• Oil & Gas and Process Plants projects in the UK and overseas
• Green Energy and Biofuels projects in the UK and overseas

Deliverables

• 3D modelling
• 2D Civil / Structural sketches and drawings
• Review and checking of engineering models, drawings and deliverables
• Preparation of MTOs
• Misc technical documentation
• Preparation and attendance of 3D model reviews
• As applicable to Civil Works, including piling, foundations, steel structures and industrial buildings

Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience

• HNC or equivalent in Civil / Structural Engineering or Design (minimum)
• Minimum 12 years experience in Civil/Structural Design related to foundations and structures supporting hydrocarbon / Oil & Gas projects
• FEED, detailed design and EPC projects
• Knowledge and experience of applicable international and industry specifications, standards and codes
• Technical knowledge in the design of foundations, piling, reinforced concrete structures, steel structures and buildings
• Complimentary knowledge of civil and underground engineering and design
• Hands-on experience of engineering software and tools as relevant to Civil / Structural Design including:
  • 3D modelling tools (e.g. SmartPlant 3D, E3D)
  • AutoCAD - latest version
  • Microstation
  • Tekla Structures
  • Navisworks
