Senior Charge Nurse/Team Leader - General Acute Nursing

- To provide clinical leadership and expert advice to all nursing staff in the delivery of care within their area of responsibility including recruitment, supervision, development and deployment of unit staff.
- The post holder will have continual 24 hour responsibility for the management of the ward/department.
- The post holder will undertake regular rotational cover of the Directorate or Hospital to provide leadership, deal with clinical issues, immediate management issues and deploy staff as appropriate.
- To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.
- Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

What well need you to bring- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
- Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have- Post registration experience.
- Band 6 experience
- Expert knowledge of treatment of clinical condition relevant to specialty.
- Excellent team working / team working skills with ability to work on own initiative.
- Effectively manage resources within ward / department.
- Evidence of personal contribution to service planning and redesign projects
- Have expanded practice in a range of clinical skills relevant to specialty.
