OVERVIEW UCL is recruiting a Senior Careers Officer within Student Well-being and Registry in the Vice-Provost (Education and Student Experience) department. This full time permanent hybrid role is based in London and focuses on supporting a diverse global student community through careers programming, employer engagement, and coaching. The position involves working closely with students and employers across apac and asia recruitment markets. The successful candidate will contribute to careers initiatives that improve student experience, strengthen employer partnerships, and support students pursuing international opportunities.
Key responsibilities- Design careers programmes for a diverse global student community
- Coach students on careers and recruitment opportunities
- Create opportunities with employers across apac
- Develop partnerships with employers and external organisations
- Deliver careers events and engagement activities
- Use insight and feedback to improve support for students in global recruitment markets
- Support students seeking opportunities in asia and related graduate labour markets
- Fluency in English and Mandarin
- Experience working or living in China and/or Hong Kong
- Knowledge of the Asia-Pacific graduate labour market
- Experience relevant to careers, student support, or employer engagement WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role contributes directly to student experience by helping students access careers guidance, employer networks, and opportunities in competitive global markets. Strong careers support can improve outcomes for students while strengthening connections between universities, employers, and international recruitment communities across asia and apac. The position also supports a more connected global approach to careers education by helping students navigate cultural and professional expectations in international employment settings.
- Highlight experience supporting students in careers, employability, or higher education environments
- Provide examples of employer engagement or partnership development work
- Demonstrate knowledge of graduate recruitment trends across asia and apac
- Emphasise communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Include examples of event delivery, coaching, or programme development experience
- Show how you use feedback or insight to improve student experience and support services
