Maples Care Home is a purpose-built nursing home in Bexleyheath, set over three floors and designed to combine modern facilities with a warm, homely atmosphere. The home offers 75 spacious ensuite bedrooms where residents are encouraged to personalise their space, creating a comfortable and supportive environment.

That's why we're looking for a kind, capable and committed Senior Care Assistant to help lead our care team and make a real difference in the lives of those we support.Role: Senior Care Assistant/Med TechLocation: 29 Glynde Road, Bexleyheath, DA7 4EUSalary: £14.31phHours: 36 hours per week (34.5 contracted), rota-based including weekends and public holidaysAs a Senior Care Assistant, you'll take a hands-on approach to delivering outstanding person-centred care, while also playing a key leadership role on shift. Whether you're supporting a new team member, updating care plans, or simply offering a reassuring hand to a resident, you'll bring confidence, warmth and purpose to everything you do.You'll work closely with nurses and managers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and you'll be a go-to support for the care team especially in moments that matter most.What you'll be doing:

  • Providing high-quality, compassionate care that supports dignity, independence and wellbeing
  • Leading your team on shift and ensuring care delivery runs smoothly
  • Responding to emergencies and offering guidance to care assistants under nurse supervision
  • Reviewing and updating care plans to ensure they stay accurate and person-centred
  • Supporting residents with daily activities and encouraging participation in wellbeing sessions
  • Acting as a role model to the team and offering mentorship to new or junior colleagues
  • Carrying out observations, record-keeping, and supporting handovers
  • Supporting with supervision, training and the development of team members
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families and colleagues

What you'll bring:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care
  • Previous experience in a similar senior care role
  • A confident, calm and compassionate approach to leading a team
  • Knowledge of person-centred care and care planning
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A respectful, patient and supportive manner with residents and colleagues alike
