Overview:

A well established and expanding engineering and industrial distribution business is continuing to invest in its procurement capability following sustained growth across the UK and Europe.

Supporting a nationwide branch and logistics network, the organisation operates at scale across engineering, power and industrial solutions.

Procurement is evolving from a decentralised, operational model into a more structured and commercially focused function. This created role will play a key part in shaping how fleet and property spend is managed, controlled and optimised across business.

Role Summary:

As Senior Buyer for Fleet and Property, you will take ownership of a broad indirect spend portfolio covering company vehicles, plant, facilities and property related services. Working closely with operations, finance and senior stakeholders, you will introduce stronger sourcing disciplines, improve supplier performance and deliver measurable commercial value.

This role suits someone who enjoys building structure in an environment where procurement influence is growing and who can balance day to day delivery with longer term improvement.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage end to end procurement activity across fleet and property categories
  • Lead sourcing and contract negotiations for vehicle supply, leasing, maintenance and associated services
  • Oversee procurement of facilities management, maintenance, utilities and property services
  • Drive cost optimisation, supplier consolidation and performance improvement initiatives
  • Improve governance, contract visibility and commercial controls
  • Partner with regional and site stakeholders to support operational needs
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of procurement processes and standards
Background and experience:
  • Solid experience within procurement or buying roles
  • Exposure to fleet, facilities, property or FM related categories
  • Experience within multi-site, distribution, engineering or asset heavy environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
  • Commercially focused with a proactive and improvement driven mindset
  • Comfortable operating in evolving or transformation led functions
Package:

The organisation offers a salary in the region of £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, a performance related bonus typically between 15 and 20 percent, a car option and flexible hybrid working from either Lancashire, Liverpool or Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of high impact categories within a business actively strengthening its procurement capability.
