We are now seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst.

Key responsibilities

The Corporate Delivery (CD) function supports and delivers the UKSBS Portfolio of Change, through the management of change, project, programme, and portfolio management. CD also provides internal Business Analysis services to the organisation. The purpose of the Business Analyst team is to provide analysis and support of the change portfolio projects, utilising effective business analysis disciplines and techniques to achieve this.

The duties for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead: Leads other analysts in task managing, coaching and mentoring and line managing up to 5 people as required. Act as a team representative throughout the end-to-end change process, providing triage, assessment and validation of the request. Participate in prioritisation assessment and resource allocation with the function lead.
  • Collaborate: Liaises and builds relationships with stakeholders to understand business issues, to manage requirements in line with business needs and to facilitate definition and delivery of coherent, appropriate solutions. This includes management feedback and escalations from stakeholders and end-users to receive feedback and escalations as well as supporting the requirements and benefits for new projects and programmes of work.
  • Communication: Communicate information effectively to drive decisions and actions whilst acting as a conduit between UKSBS SLG; P&C SLT; Clients; End users; Operational teams and technical areas.
  • Elicitation: Use various techniques to elicit and engineer requirements for technical and process development and enhancements.
  • Document: Review and produce fully reasoned and costed business cases, document requirements, functional specifications, business objectives, cost estimations, and benefits etc.
  • Analyse: Conduct feasibility studies, perform critical analysis of options from business, technical, and commercial perspectives, gap analysis, business process mapping, and provide subject matter expertise to the business

To do this role well you will need:

  • Ability to mentor; lead; guide other Business Analysts and champion the skills of Business Analysis.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and colleagues.
  • Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on projects and programmes with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
  • Able to interact with senior stakeholders and to strategic projects and programmes and be able to influence them with recommendations for a decision regarding the business strategy.
  • Able to leverage or adapt suitable methods and techniques and guide new and amended process, practices and systems that deliver value to the business.
  • Able to critically review the products of the Business Analysts with effective and productive feedback.
  • Able to create and maintain fluent and accurate documentation to be interpreted easily by relevant audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements as well as logical solution designs.
  • Experience of conducting in-depth analysis of services and processes and working with teams to identify and implement opportunities to optimise them.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking in planned, and ad hoc situations demonstrating the ability to quickly assimilate information, draw objective conclusions, and make considered recommendations.
  • Strong commercial acumen demonstrating the ability to build a financial case to support a position.
  • Formal Business Analysis Qualification(s) or membership to relevant professional bodies.
  • Agile Delivery or practitioner Qualifications preferably in the SAFe Product Owner/Manager space.
  • Experience in a Business Analyst position working on projects with a strong focus on Technical and Business Change development.
  • Creative and innovative approach, offering ideas for improving services and operations.
Desirable
  • Demonstrable ERP Systems experience with one or more of HR, Finance, and Procurement delivering change for a large-scale ERP(s).
  • Experience of working as part of a team implementing large ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).
  • Experience of conducting in-depth analysis of services and processes and working with teams to identify and implement opportunities to optimise them.
  • Experience of working in both an Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • A mix of public and private sector experience.
  • A demonstrated interest in continuous self-improvement and learning.
