Senior Bookkeeper (Part-Time)
Remote 15-17.5 hours per week Permanent
Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnering with a successful and well-established business within the construction and infrastructure sector to recruit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business in a standalone finance role, offering flexibility, autonomy and the chance to take full ownership of the finance function.
The Role
As Senior Bookkeeper, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all bookkeeping and accounting activities using Sage
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
- Processing supplier invoices and payment runs
- Managing online banking and bank reconciliations
- Overseeing credit control and cashflow reporting
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Processing payroll and pension submissions
- Producing monthly management accounts and reports
- Preparing year-end accounts to trial balance
- Liaising with external accountants and supporting the annual audit process
- Ensuring HMRC and statutory compliance requirements are met
About You
We're looking for an experienced and self-sufficient finance professional who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of their role.
You will have:
- Strong Sage experience (essential)
- Experience managing the finance function within an SME environment
- Payroll, pension, VAT and HMRC compliance experience
- Experience preparing management accounts and year-end accounts
- Strong reconciliation, reporting and cashflow management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The confidence to work autonomously with minimal supervision
