Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a flexible, remote role where you can take full ownership of the finance function and become a trusted partner to the Directors?

Senior Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

Remote 15-17.5 hours per week Permanent

Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnering with a successful and well-established business within the construction and infrastructure sector to recruit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business in a standalone finance role, offering flexibility, autonomy and the chance to take full ownership of the finance function.

The Role

As Senior Bookkeeper, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all bookkeeping and accounting activities using Sage
  • Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
  • Processing supplier invoices and payment runs
  • Managing online banking and bank reconciliations
  • Overseeing credit control and cashflow reporting
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Processing payroll and pension submissions
  • Producing monthly management accounts and reports
  • Preparing year-end accounts to trial balance
  • Liaising with external accountants and supporting the annual audit process
  • Ensuring HMRC and statutory compliance requirements are met

About You

We're looking for an experienced and self-sufficient finance professional who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of their role.

You will have:

  • Strong Sage experience (essential)
  • Experience managing the finance function within an SME environment
  • Payroll, pension, VAT and HMRC compliance experience
  • Experience preparing management accounts and year-end accounts
  • Strong reconciliation, reporting and cashflow management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The confidence to work autonomously with minimal supervision
