Successful candidates will join a state-of-the-art facility and support the team conducting testing and research on the latest technologies and innovations in the industry. You will work alongside infrastructure and Cybersecurity professionals to ensure that the UK's telecoms infrastructure grows in a resilient and secure manner, underpinning growth in other industry sectors.
As a trusted and independent national capability, UKTL interacts with standards bodies, academia, government departments, communications service providers, and equipment vendors.
Internally, this role is called 'Senior Automation Specialist'.Successful applicants must be able to commute to the UKTL offices in Birmingham, with the possibility of hybrid working.

Main Responsibilities- Architect and implement the orchestration of security testing.
- Support maturing in-house security tools from creation to automation.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to the DevOps team.
- Serve as a point of escalation for technical issues within the DevOps team.
- Produce automated reports on testing results.
- Identify improvement opportunities or suggest new testing methods.
- Lead the development of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible or Salt.
- Knowledge or practical experience of security testing methods and tools.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience taking ownership and leading delivery to outcomes.
- Ability to architect and implement tooling.
- Experience in software development.
