As part of the Digital Audiences team, you'll help drive the BBC's digital transformation by providing evidence and inspiration that put audiences at the heart of strategy and growth.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
Reporting to the Head of Audience Research for Digital, this role ensures audience insight and data are central to strategic decisions.
You'll track and analyse BBC Online's performance, uncovering insights and growth opportunities to support the BBC's digital-first goals. This pivotal role helps stakeholders understand audience behaviour, platform performance, and industry trends.
The focus is on quantitative research and data analysis, requiring strong skills in strategy, data visualisation, and presentation.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Produce regular reports, dashboards, and updates to inform decision-making across BBC Online.
- Analyse data from multiple sources including third-party market intelligence tools, to identify behavioural trends, surface challenges and growth opportunities.
- Present insights clearly through compelling narratives and visualisations tailored to diverse audiences.
- Contribute to digital growth projects by delivering data-driven insights that shape strategy.
- Support the wider Audiences team and BBC divisions in understanding UK audience behaviour.
- Build strong cross-departmental relationships to champion data-led decision-making.
- Manage multiple projects efficiently, delivering high-quality analysis under tight deadlines.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Extensive experience in quantitative research - this is a data-heavy role that demands confidence in handling, analysing, and interpreting large and complex datasets.
- You will have a good understanding of industry datasets such as BARB and online analytics tools like Piano/ATI or similar, or a proven ability to extract actionable insight from similar large-scale data sources.
- Skilled in synthesising diverse data sources to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, with proven experience in independently conducting quantitative research
- Organised, accurate, and efficient in producing high-quality reporting to tight deadlines and a deep understanding and genuine interest in consumer behaviour and trends within the digital media industry.
DESIRABLE
- Strong storytelling and communication skills: ability to convey complex findings for stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy.
- Experience with qualitative research is beneficial, though secondary to strong quantitative capabilities.
