We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Associate / healthcare litigation lawyer, who will undertake a wide variety of healthcare litigation work for the NHS and other public and private healthcare providers. There may also be an opportunity to undertake client secondments. This role will provide you with the opportunity to join one of the country's leading healthcare law firms
Key Responsibilities: Duties to include but not limited to;- Pre-action investigation and drafting;
- Drafting of reports and advice to clients;
- Preparation and attendance of trials and ADR / settlement meetings / mediations;
- Interviewing witnesses and drafting of statements
- Cost management;
- Multi-party litigation;
- Negotiation of settlement;
- Preparation and attendance at Court hearings including CCMCs and application hearings
- Supervision of other team members
- Client training and support activities including; presentations, seminars and webinars
- Supervision of a team
- Business development activities (appropriate to role)
- Previous healthcare litigation experience, ideally from another panel firm or medical defence insurer or indemnifier
- Familiar with issues relevant to our clients within the healthcare sector
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to uphold strong confidentiality and ensure compliance with client requirements
- Able to work to tight deadlines and targets
- Flexible and willing to take on a varied workload
- Able to work as part of a wider team
