About the roleCambridge University Press & Assessment is a world leading academic publisher and assessment organisation affiliated with the University of Cambridge.
In this role you will be a Physics and General Sciences subject specialist responsible for managing a wide range of tasks to ensure the successful delivery of examinations for learners around the world.
Responsibilities- Oversee the production of question papers for our exam series, ensuring 100 % accuracy and error free content.
- Ensure question papers are comparable across series, year to year, and fair to candidates from different countries and backgrounds.
- Set thresholds that determine grades.
- Work with stakeholders and Assessment Specialists, including Setters, Revisers, Vetters and Principal Examiners.
- Manage teams of examiners and contribute to succession planning for the future.
- Collaborate with our partner ministries worldwide to develop and revise their syllabuses.
Every question paper must assess what we say it assesses, and the grade thresholds must provide a reliable indication of candidates' attainment for employers and universities worldwide.
Hybrid WorkingThe position is classified as hybrid, requiring 40 %-60 % of time spent collaborating face to face at a dedicated location. Flexible working arrangements will be considered from day one, including adjustments for disability or long term health conditions.
About YouApplicants should hold a degree in Physics or a closely related science subject (e.g., Biology, Chemistry). Preference is given to those with classroom experience or subject expertise, and experience in project management or assessment in an educational setting.
