Requirements:

• This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2-3 days per week in the Cape Town office.
• 10+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field
• Must have hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool)
• Must have experience with Snowflake
• Must have strong SQL skills
• Experience building and maintaining data models and transformation pipelines
• Ability to work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders
• Experience working in an English speaking environment

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Experience with data warehouse design and dimensional modelling
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, and tested SQL
• Familiarity with data quality and testing practices (e.g. dbt tests, Great Expectations)
• Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
• Familiarity with Python for data processing or scripting
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices for data pipelines
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
